活動期間在學之臺大研究生，且正進行原創性研究或已有研究相關之論文發表者。
All currently-enrolled NTU graduate students who are currently conducting original research or have publications that can contribute to their future theses/dissertations can participate in the 3MT competition.

1. 是否可以接受三分鐘學術簡報之相關訓練?
Can I receive advice or coaching in preparing my 3MT presentation?

參賽者可接受額外訓練，惟需自行尋求專業人士之建議。寫作教學中心無法提供三分鐘學術簡報之個人一對一指導。建議參賽者撥空參加三分鐘學術簡報說明會 (3月23日)及學術簡報技巧攻略之相關演講 (5月7日)。
Coaching is acceptable; you will need to arrange your own coaching. The 3MT and the AWEC will not offer personal coaching. However, you are highly recommended to attend the 3MT information seminar and presentation talk held by the AWEC on March 23 and May 7 respectively to know more about the Competition.

2. 進入複選與決選之後，能否更改簡報題目?
Can I change the topic of my 3MT after I have been qualified as a semi-finalist or finalist?

影片一經繳交，將無法更改簡報題目與內容。進入複選與決選之參賽者僅可對投影片設計做細微調整，例如修正少數文字或調整投影片的清晰度。
You cannot change the topic or make any major changes to your originally-submitted video presentation. However, you are allowed to make small, cosmetic improvements to your original text and slide for the semi-final and final events, such as changing a few words or fixing your slide to make them clearer.

3. 是否必須說明研究結果?
Do I have to announce my results?

參賽者可自行決定是否說明研究結果。比賽規則不硬性規定參賽者必須公開研究結果，若參賽者已有初步研究結果或關鍵性研究數據，可考慮是否能引起觀眾興趣。若現階段尚無具體研究成果，參賽者亦可預測研究結果。
This is up to you. The rules do not require that you explicitly present your results. However, if you do have preliminary or final key results, you should consider how interesting they might be to the audience. Alternatively, you can predict your research outcomes.

4. 是否可於簡報時使用提示小卡?
Can I refer to palm cards or speech notes during my presentation?

提示小卡可於報告時使用，但由於講者常因此分心，故不建議採用。
Yes, palm cards and/or speech notes are acceptable. However, this option may detract you from delivering your 3MT and is not recommended.

5. 是否有參賽服裝的規定?
Is there a dress code?

無參賽服裝之要求。可穿著正式套裝(例如西裝領帶)或輕便服裝(例如襯衫牛仔褲)。依比賽辦法，不得穿著戲服(例如帽子、面具、假髮等)。
There is no stipulated dress requirement. Some have worn suits with ties and others t-shirts and jeans. Please wear whatever is comfortable for you. Do not wear any accessories that might distract the audience (e.g. hats, masks, wigs, fake glasses, etc.).

6. 投影片上可包含哪些內容?
What is allowed on my 3MT PowerPoint slide?

參賽者可使用一張靜態投影片。投影片設計可依據「少即是多」(簡潔便是美)之原則。投影片內不宜包含過多文字敘述，可考慮使用視覺圖像為輔助，說明研究大意。投影片不得包含任何切換特效與動畫。
You are allowed to have one single static PowerPoint slide. In preparing the slide, remember that “less is more.” Your slide does not have to include text. Visual cues are very effective in assisting your explanation of the research.

7. 可否引述詩詞段落?
Although I cannot deliver my 3MT as a poem or song, can I quote from a poem or song?

若與論文研究相關，可引述部分詩詞段落，但應遵守少量使用之原則。簡報不得全段以詩詞朗誦或歌曲唱誦之方式呈現。
Yes, you can include quotes from a poem or song if they are relevant to your 3MT topic. However, you are not allowed to use poetry and song lyrics to present your entire 3MT, so it is recommended that quotes from poems or songs be sparingly used.
