As a Third Culture kid and adult, having lived in quite a few countries around the world and having taught students from different cultural backgrounds, it is undeniable that people are social creatures who crave interactions with others. Being able to express ourselves through some kind of medium allows for that to happen. Speaking and writing, be it in academia or just everyday life, are two language skills that focus on self-expression, which allow for people to form connections with one another. I hope to continue to guide my students on their language-learning journey as they navigate their way through this world.
